In Government schools every one have to study in primary school (Grade 1 - 5) then secondary education (Grade 6 - 11) senior secondary (Grade 11-13).in age 16 after completing the O/L if someone wish to stop study they can, otherwise every one should complete their A/L but students must pass their O/L. There are Private schools and Government school but most people choosing Gov Schools. because of the free education and the education system is very good.apart from that every GOV schools in Srilanka teach only in Sinhala language (1st language in srilanka) or Tamil.for a example Schools in Colombo kandy teach in 3 languages Sinhala,Tamil and English. On the other hand Rich people send their children's to PVT schools. in a PVT schools the system of education is different.for example their are doing lot of western studies such as LONDON A/L.
